Who invented the weddle grab air? <\/a><\/p>\n

Chris “Weddle Grab aka Mute” Weddle did, that’s right. This guy has been ripping shit up for years and the man is no joke. He traces his skateboarding beginnings to the 80’s southern California skate days but he now lays it down in the St. Louis area. Deaf Monkey and Chris met under unusual circumstances on the BigTop Skatepark message board. The Monkey signed a comment as “Deaf Monkey” and Chris threatened to kick the Monk’s ass for making fun of deaf people. Chris hadn’t heard about Deaf Skateboards or that the Deaf Monkey really was a deaf skater. Everything worked out and the two can laugh about it now. Deaf Monkey caught up with this

Where were you born?<\/p>\n

CW} By Disneyland in California.<\/em><\/p>\n

What’s your birthdate? How old are you? How much do you weigh?<\/p>\n

CW} 1965 day after christmas. 37. around 170.<\/em><\/p>\n

How long have you been skateboarding?<\/p>\n

CW} 26 years of skating on ditches, pools, vert ramps,miniramps,concrete and pipes.<\/em><\/p>\n

CW} You mean now? Noone really except Hosoi.<\/em><\/p>\n

Who did you grew up with old pros?<\/p>\n

CW} Alan Losi, Salba, Malba, Jeff Grosso, Chris Robison
\n(RIP), Lester Kasai, Omar Hassan, El Gato, Lance Mountain,
\nRon Yerman and Tony Hawk<\/em>.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite tricks? Beside mute air?<\/p>\n

CW} Losi grind, frontside rock, backside and frontside
\nsweeper, 50\/50 fakie at 100 mph, and the frontside air.<\/em><\/p>\n

Where are you at now?<\/p>\n

CW} We live in St. Louis, Missouri.<\/em><\/p>\n

Have you thought about going back CA?<\/p>\n

CW} Oh yeah someday I will, I have to wait till my daughter
\nfinishes school ’07 and\/or if things in CA get better.<\/em><\/p>\n

Where is the last time you see the pro or hang out with
\npros? What is the park called? What year?<\/p>\n

CW} Last time I saw Losi, the Variflex team and friends
\nat Ranch skatepark in Colton, California in 81 because they
\nshut down my favorite park which I missed because of no
\nride then suddenly all the parks shut down except Pipeline,
\nthat was my first skate park in 77 then no skateparks then
\nI skated ditches, ramps and pools.<\/em><\/p>\n

Who named you a mute? What year? Where? Why?<\/p>\n

CW} I was told that Alan Losi’s father Gil Losi named
\nmy mute air trick that I pulled out at Pro\/Am event at Ranch frontside
\nin 1981 because I am always quiet and talk funny which i
\nam hard of hearing.<\/em><\/p>\n

Where is the best place you ever skated in your life?<\/p>\n

CW} I would say Louisville, Ky and Fontana, Ca.<\/em><\/p>\n

What is your favorite food?<\/p>\n

CW} Mexican foods.<\/em><\/p>\n

What is your set up? What size of board? Trucks? Wheels?
\nHow many riser pads do you use it?<\/p>\n

CW} 9 inch, square tail, 169mm Indy, 60 mm spitfire
\nand one riser pad.<\/em><\/p>\n

Do you have family? Kids?<\/p>\n

CW} Yeah, My loving wife Candy and daughter Elizabeth
